ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Metro Vancouver Philippine Arts and Culture Exposition Society (MVPACES) presents the annual PHILIPPINE DAYS FESTIVAL event every second weekend of June as the official Filipino Canadian celebration of Philippine Arts and Cultural Heritage in British Columbia, Canada.
Now on it’s 15th year, this year’s festival event takes place on Saturday & Sunday, June 13th & 14th, 2020, at its landmark venue – the Waterfront Park of North Vancouver, British Columbia.
The event also marks with patriotic significance the commemorative celebration each year of the Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence of June 12, 1898.
This community gathering highlights the unique Filipino tradition of a “Barrio Fiesta” atmosphere, set with an array of Filipino cuisine, song and dance stage performances, field parade demonstrations, and a showcase of various products and services in the more than 75 business/merchandise booths, a food court area, and a children’s play land strategically situated all around the park.
Thousands of people from all over British Columbia, of multi-ethnic origins, including visitors from across the border in Washington State, USA, grace the 2-day event to experience the vibrant Filipino traditions and hospitable family culture. This is the Filipino community’s contribution to Canada’s multicultural society!
We invite you to come and join us at the festival!
The 2020 Philippine Days Festival celebrates
“A Tribute to S.A.V.E.”
(Seniors, Aged, Veterans, Elders)
This year’s festival is dedicated with great reverence our Seniors, Aged, Veterans, and the Elders in our community. The program proceedings are designed towards honoring and recognizing their wisdom, leadership and guidance in molding our people, especially our children and grandchildren, to be worthy and productive citizens of this country, emphasizing the values, traits, and great traditions of “being Filipino.”
